Anthony Howell

A former dancer with the Royal Ballet, Anthony Howell was founder of The Theatre of Mistakes which performed at many venues including the Paris Biennale and the Galerie Farideh Cadot, as well as at the Theatre for the New City and the Paula Cooper Gallery in New York. His performance art has been seen at the Tate, the Hayward Gallery and at the Sydney Biennale. His seminal textbook The Analysis of Performance Art is distributed by Routledge, and he is internationally regarded for his performance art workshops.

He is also a published poet whose first collection of poems Inside the Castle was published in 1969. Since then he has brought out many collections and his Selected Poems have been published by Anvil. His first novel In the Company of Others was published by Marion Boyars.

In 2001 he received a £6000 LADA bursary to study the tango in Buenos Aires. He now teaches in central London and at his studio/gallery, The Room, in Tottenham Hale. He founded Tango Art in 2002, whose work has been seen at The John Thaw Memorial Studio Manchester, The Ikon Gallery Birmingham, SKC, Belgrade, The Place, London, Chisenhale Dance Space, London.  Anthony has danced with Tango Code at River Tango 2006 and in Tango Extravaganza 2007.

Lindi Köpke

Lindi Kopke obtained her BMus in Dance in 2004 and her PGCE in 2005 at the University of Cape Town. She has been studying and performing Argentine Tango since 2002. She has performed in various South African productions including Tango Experience, All you ever wanted to know about tango, but were too afraid to ask, Pulcinella, I of heart and Guardian of the Flame. Her passion for dancing to classical music is embedded in her training as a solo classical percussionist since the age of 12.

Jenny Nolan

Jenny Sayer studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has performed in The Waterfall by The Theatre of Mistakes at the Ikon and the Arnolfini. Her repertoire with Tango Art includes Tango Schumann and Elegy. She has performed and taught Argentine Tango in London and is currently performing in Midnight Tango as well as teaching and demonstrating in the UK .  She has also recently been teaching in the USA after having spent most of 2008 dancing in Buenos Aires  (www.jennynolantango.com).
